The Family Matriarch

77 years ago, a beautiful baby girl was born in Batu Cheping, Bahau which is now know Masan, to the couple of Kunjappa and Valliamma. This girl was then named Kamala. She was the second child among four siblings. However, at present only two have survived; Kamala and her brother, Ragavan.

      At the age of 16, she married Kannan Kunjamu and had 11 children. Among these 11, 10 survived until the year 1995 when another son, Sree passed away. The remaining 9 who survived are Kunjappa @ Bala, Ramakrishnan @ Segar, Manoharan, Panjali @ Ammu, Ramachanthiran, Ramodharan @ Damo, Baskaran, Saraspathy @ Devi and Kowsalyah. She now lives happily with all her children after going through a lot of hardship during the earlier days.

Our family`s History

The death of Sreetharan in 1995 made us realise the importance of family relationship and the need to foster a closer ties with all family members. This need was finally materialised in year 2000 with the first family gathering at Taman Satelite, Bahau. Although it was held in a small scale the gathering achieved its objective of getting the family members together. For the next 6 years, it was held in Port Dickson in December. After some of the younger members voiced out their boredom at it being done yearly at Port Dickson, finally in 2007, the venue was changed to IOI Resort at Putrajaya. Here, it was agreed that from 2008 onwards 2 families would be in charge of organising the gathering in yearly. Therefore in 2008, the Segar-Manoharan team decided to have it at Kuala Selangor.Melaka was the choice of Baskaran-Prasad Team the following year. 2010 sees us going back to Melaka again.
